In our dingbat finder some titles are marked to indicate more info here: about the creator, other material to be found at their pages, or the availability of fonts or a site. Sources of other styles of fonts and downloads are mentioned, a few sites of general or specialised interest, and a little background about 'lost' fonts and authors.
We try to update or add info as we come across it, but there are extended periods when it's not possible to work on the webpages: for this reason, each item is dated so you can tell when it was written or last checked/updated.

Apart from the dozen or so dingbats in our lists, Brian Kent's Aenigma Fonts has a great selection of font faces to choose from: good illustrations too, with nice use of colour. Some will be of interest if you need fonts which include mathematical and currency symbols: titles such as Supra Genius, Homespun, Jupiter Crash and Fully Completely should fit the bill. Look around the previews and you'll find quite a few with fractions, superscript chars, the Euro symbol, pound (£) sign, etc and it's refreshing to find characters like these in 'different' looking fonts. But more than that, most Aenigma faces include a 'full' character set (in the sense of a minimum of upper and lowercase, numbers and all punctuation), but a number are fuller still and include the range of accented characters and ligatures. Some titles also have two or more variations, e.g. fat, hollow, etc. All in all it's a remarkable collection for what it will cost you precisely zero! With interesting and fun faces to choose from there's no excuse at all for dull-looking documents, no matter what the content :)
to Jul 2007Despite the AEZ / Adult Ramblings site by Anastacia Zittel carrying a notice for many months from 2005 that all her old fonts would be coming back as large downloads, as far we know they never did; and now the site has gone altogether.
Jul 2007At the very attractive Altemus Creative pages (the foundry of Robert Altemus, NY) you will find an extremely versatile collection of dingbat fonts. All are to buy, no samplers to try first, but (before you skip on in search of the next freebie!) drop in and take a look: nearly all contain 174 characters many more than you could expect would be included in the average freeware font. The quality looks excellent and the cost isn't out of the way, with special offers and discounts available on various collections.
to Jul 2007Luc described the Apostrophic Lab as 'one of the most dynamic foundries', and it would be hard to disagree. The Lab hasn't been with us for a few years, but we live in hope! For a lengthy period there was still a notional online presence with the following notice: "As of December 1, 2003, this site is still under construction. The old apostrophiclab.com contained over 1000 free font packages for download. Many of those packages will be coming back under a new public domain license instead of their initial freeware one." But even that page has now disappeared.
Happily, many of the fonts made and offered at the old Apostrophic Lab by Apostrophe (Fredrick Nader) and the rest of the crew are available in The Lab Collection held at typOasis including most of the dingbats, so links on their individual titles in our lists now point there if possible. Just three didn't seem to make it to the typOasis archive: Carbolith Trips, Maskalin, and PicaHole Grids, all by Apostrophe himself, but our links point you to other archives for these titles.
to Jul 2007BackRoom Fonts didn't surface again after hosting of members' pages was discontinued at Design Heaven some time ago, so these lovely dingbats make up another collection of 'lost fonts' for download here at D-UK.
Date N/ABart Claeys began a new site in 2003 for web design and development, but the dingbats which used to be featured at his Fontasia International pages were left in the past. Fear not you can find them here.
to Jul 2007Fonts for crafts and crafters: there's a font to help you make your own crochet patterns see under 'Crochet' in the dingbat links. Another for cross stitch has now been added. Also a couple for making knitting patterns, under K in our lists. Knitters might also be interested in one by Honey & Death called KnitFont: not a dingbat, more a regular font, with 'knitted' characters set on a background of knitting take the Fonts link from here, then choose from Flash or HTML to see the page.
to Jul 2007The CSP Backgrounds or Cyberspaceplace dingbats disappeared some time ago but, with help from friends of D-UK, we managed to track down the titles and put them back together as a collection of 'lost fonts' so they would not be forgotten: find them here.
to Jul 2007For some time Nick Curtis, of Nick's Fonts has not offered his lovely freeware fonts himself, for reasons explained if you follow the Nick's Finis link from this page. The situation and frustrations described must be typical of many font designers . . . go figure. But we got lucky: typoOasis holds the collection of Nick's freeware titles, and included there are the first two Kartoon Kutz dingbats, plus Deco Borders, Deco Dingbats and Swish Buttons. Many of the fonts can also be downloaded between FontFreak and 1001 Fonts, but these collections differ and it seems likely neither has the complete set.
Back at Nick's own site are attractive samples of all his commercial fonts (available through MyFonts.com). Among these and of particular interest to dingbat devotees are two additions to the Kartoon Kutz family (nos. 3 and 4, to supplement the first two in the series which are still freeware as mentioned above), Woody Goodies 1 & 2, American Pi, Jimbatz, Junge Holiday Cutz and Period Borders. Also offered is a CD with the wonderful title of Pereginations in Pulchritudinous Penmanship: this contains 21 fonts and 300 period graphics, including retro clipart, art deco borders, decorative panels, page borders; and period poster images in groups entitled The Fifties, Ladies & Gentlemen, Travel & Leisure, Faraway Places, and Design Motifs). The CD is available via this page at MyFonts.com.
to Jul 2007Matthew Petty's DisturbedType is no more, with the loss of three dingbat titles (Disturbed Bats, the Shrooms font of mushrooms, and Nashville which included some dings), so their links have been removed in our finder lists. Maybe these titles can be found elsewhere, but as redistribution was strictly prohibited we have no plans to offer them . . . sorry :)
to Jul 2007The dingbat titles made and offered by Dizzie at Dizzinz Studio carry a $2 price tag after having been freely available for many years: very reasonable, and the price is neither here nor there it's just rather a shame after being downloadable for so long.
Apr 2006-Jul 2007From Switzerland, Giada Ghiringhelli had a nice site called Essences of Design, where she offered several linkware and shareware dingbat fonts. It went offline in 2004, but some shareware fonts were still available to buy through MyFonts.com. Redistribution of the freeware titles was specifically prohibited without permission, so unfortunately they cannot be reoffered.
Oct 2005-Jul 2007Bren Burrill's Eye Envision Studios (formerly Elite Web Design) bit the dust apparently, though a new site opened in 2004, Bren Burrill Photography / Digital Imaging. There was no sign of the dingbats formerly on offer however, so our links were taken off at that point; and that domain too has since disappeared.
to Jul 2007Famous fonts: plenty of lookalike fonts for brand names, company names, film titles, bands' names, etc, etc, can be found here:
(a) Dennis Ludlow's Sharkshock Productions
(b) Famous Fonts
(c) jmd Fonts also has a series of Famous Logos fonts (one free, four to buy)
(d) At Jack Usine's Smeltery, some of the characters in the two fonts COnsume and COnsume More are made up from single-letter company logos: enter the site, take the Free Fonts link, then look for these titles in the dropdown list.
(e) A number of UK and Irish television and radio channel logos by MDTA and Green Dragon used to be available at The TV Room, but they don't seem to have come through a site reorganisation; however four are available at DaFont go here.
Current at Jul 2007
The concept of Font Aid originated in 2000, when Claes Källarsson of Fuel Fonts invited 26 type designers to each contribute characters to a typeface, proceeds of sale being donated to UNICEF. In 2001, directly after the 9/11 tragedy, Font Aid II was launched at the instigation of Stuart Sandler at FontDiner: the font, entitled September 11, was available for one year only and consisted of nearly 100 question-mark characters contributed by type designers in over 20 countries; proceeds were donated to the Red Cross and victim relief efforts. The most recent collaborative effort was Font Aid III in support of the victims of the Asian tsunami disaster, again involving designers from all around the globe and whose contributions resulted in the gorgeous dingbat font Fleurons of Hope. Overflowing with characters, it costs just $20 and is still available. Read more about Font Aid III and the font designers who made this wonderful font a reality at SOTA (the Society of Typographic Aficionados) by clicking the button, and take the link from there to purchase the font; or go directly to the page at MyFonts.com to continue supporting the relief work in this unique and worthwhile way.
Current at Jul 2007The collected works of Ben Balvanz, offered at his Font-a-Licious site, have been unavailable for quite a while... but now he's back, and so is Fontalicious in a way. At the new site click on the Fonts link to look at graphics of the ones which used to be available, but there are no downloads. From there go through to a partial re-creation of the old Fontalicious site, and even click on a link for the dingbats; but in this scaled-down version only the first page is resurrected and, though the previews work, just one title (Stretch can be saved. But we enjoyed our nostalgia trip!
Where possible we have pointed our list links for Ben's fonts to one or two other archives who hold various titles, including many of the popular dingbats, but they don't have quite all of them so a few are still link-less as this item is updated.
Jul 2007No dingbats in the 'Free Silverware' section, but take a look at what else is on offer at Stuart Sandler's Font Diner, which specialises in retro fonts some cool typefaces here.
to Jul 2007Fontosaurus (Dan Bailey) is back after an extended absence overhauling his site, and early in 2006 posted a notice that we should expect 'a ton of fonts' to buy through MyFonts.com, plus expansion of the best of the free titles to full character sets 'over the coming months' -- presumably to be offered from his own site again. As the D-UK pages are devoted to dingbats we had only ever listed the two titles Statebats and Whackbats, which dropped out of his collection for retirement some years ago, so a revival seems remote -- but you never know! Dan is producing new fonts again though, but not quite yet the 'ton' he mentioned. We await developments with interest.
Jul 2007FontsAnon~ (Fontaholics Anonymous) was a great place to visit, with dingbats contributed by members over the years, articles and comment, and good links. It began in the early 1990s as a 'refuge' for font addicts (hence the name), and progressed through several re-designs before its final, simple but very elegant 'look'. Then in about 2003 it just disappeared and the domain was later for sale. Not the same without them!
Date N/AAfter a break while she moved sites, Kimberly Warzelhan (formerly 'The FrogFrau' and Glass Frog Productions) let us know she was re-offering the four FroggiX ornamental dingbat fonts from her Erratic Frog pages in the Free Stuff section; and also hinted more fonts could be in the pipeline. As this item is updated the site carries a temporary plain page while it is being overhauled again, but we hope it and the fonts will soon be available again :)
Jul 2007For many years Mike Gaines had a great collection of picture fonts connected with various TV series, chat shows, horror film characters etc, and it was a big surprise to find them and Mike 'gone' some time ago. To begin with our links remained in case the site popped up again, but after well over two years this now seems very unlikely. You should have little trouble finding these fonts offered elsewhere if you Google the titles (which we still list, minus links).
Jul 2007The GorillaBlu (or Dingbrats) dingbats are scattered around many archive sites, but we put together a single download page a while ago which includes most of the ones people come looking for, and it's one of our most popular pages go to the GorillaBlu Fonts. London Stokes has also made a dingfont called Looking for Blue's Clues which you'll find in her zip for October 2002.
Date N/AFrom Canada, Lucie Grenier withdrew a useful set of nine freeware dingbat fonts from her FinFond site, but has kindly given permission for them to be reoffered here -- visit the FinFond Collection. Two further titles are available to buy from her own site, where there is also an extensive gallery of lovely photographs to send as ecards, download, or simply to browse.
from Aug 2007For Harry Potter fonts, see the item below.
Date N/ALadySara's pages at www.ladysara.org were a real goldmine for dingbat enthusiasts, but also for PSP users, with literally hundreds of pages containing masks, brushes, frames, presets, tubes and interfaces. The site was regularly updated with new additions, and it was always a pleasure to drop by to see what goodies lay in store. Since about December 2004 the domain has been unavailable, but the following year we heard from LS that while she was extremely busy with other things she hoped it would be back at some point, and the fonts reoffered. At the same time an update and outline of possible future plans was posted at her other site, Blue Morning Expressions -- unfortunately that page no longer carries any reference to the LadySara site.
to Jul 2007LadyTimeless was a welcome new source of freeware dingbats: LT has been a long-time supporter and friend of the D-UK links from the early days, and we were glad she joined the ranks of creators when so many others had been leaving the scene. Among her first efforts were a couple of 'different' and useful topics such as fences/gates and windows; along with attractive decorative outlines in other titles, and one for pet-lovers (Cats vs. Dogs). In 2007 further new titles were added to the collection. There's also a handy tutorial here for creating dingbats in High Logic's Font Creator.
Jul 2007Ray Larabie's commercial fonts are at Typodermic, but his wonderful collection of free fonts (including the several dingbats we list) had always been offered from the Larabie Fonts site until 2005 when they were all transferred to MyFonts.com for download. They are all still free: or, as we should clarify, the Windows and Mac TrueType versions are (Postscript/T1 or OpenType versions are not). Ray explains all the details and the reasons for the change at his page here. It's a pity the process of getting our mits on a font is more long-winded by this route than it used to be with a single simple click from his site, but hey . . . let's not grouse when there are still so many fine fonts available!
Another more recent venture in collaboration with other designers is the experimental freeware font site project FontSugar.
Jul 2007Mike Lee and the guys at Omega Design specialise in alien fonts, and many more are to be found over several pages apart from the two Babylon 5 dingbats and one or two others in our lists. A number would be suitable for abstract designs and shapes; though this was probably not the aim when they were created!
Star Trek fans will find a pack of 79 fonts at Starbase 173 Sector 23: dingbat, alien and regular ST-related fonts collected together without any documentation. There are also some great Star Trek desktop wallpapers on the same page :)
to Jul 2007Jeff Levine (Jeff's Fonts & Dingbats) has always been a mainstay of the dinglinks. He rarely creates new titles nowadays, but Jeff's large original collection is still available at his own site and also at typOasis. It's a great resource and all titles are listed in our links, taking you (with one exception, which they don't seem to have) to the typOasis version of Jeff's pages. Jeff also has a small selection of alphadings and regular fonts. Two further dingbats, Symbologica and the Columbia Shuttle Memorial Font, are available at this separate page at typOasis.
A great disappointment when dropping in at Jeff's site in 2004 was finding his collection of Cobb Shinn fonts no longer offered (but read on!). Jeff had made 32 fonts from an incredible library of stock cuts (what we would nowadays call retro clip-art) drawn in the 1920s and 30s, but withdrew the collection when certain copyright issues were raised by a third party; but by then the fonts had been 'out there' for some time, and it was possible to find a few if you had a good look around. Now you don't need to . . . if you drop by the terrific Tack-O-Rama pages you'll find the whole kit and caboodle. Tack-O-Rama has 'come and gone' in the past, and while we hope it's back to stay this time you never know, so get yourself off there if you want retro!
to Jul 2007LwayzSmiln (LisaMarie or LM Ding Fonts) set up a site as Mystical Modality: her dingbats page carries a note to say they're 'coming soon', but it's been there for a really long while now as you can see from the dates on this item.
Jun 2003-Jul 2007From Spain, Joan M Mas at Typephases Design withdrew a number of the wonderfully original free dingbats formerly available, for reasons explained here. They're not entirely lost: customers can request them or they'll be sent as a bonus with any order. Among the casualties are Bruegheliana, Deskspace (x2), Fazzes (x2), Homoningos, Illustries (x3), and Mandicho. Still available currently as freeware are Antypepatics, Lletraparits and PsychoPaths; and later freeware titles added for download are Carusses, Tipejos and Tooman all available in PC and Mac formats. Ombres now appears to be only to buy. All details can be found at the Typephases Catalogue page.
Dingbats Fonts is an illustrated feature (formerly entitled Dingbat Mania!) which we have highlighted since this site began: in it Joan explains what dingbats are and suggests ways of using them. Further interesting reading in the Notepad section, including tips on font management and making fonts. The Spanish version of TypePhases is available here.
Jul 2007After Aussie Perry Mason gave up his own online presence, nearly all of his huge collection of fonts was offered from the Just Us Now website; but unfortunately the JUN site has also now gone. We would have liked to reoffer at least the dingbats, but it's a large collection in itself, extremely popular, and we were doubtful our bandwidth could stand the strain! -- it may well have taken D-UK over its monthly limits. Luckily for all of us, on mentioning this to Luc Devroye, he very kindly offered to host downloads from his pages; so the dingbat fonts are now available as a single zip file containing all the 70-odd titles. You can download the PerryMasonDingbats zip with this link but be aware that it's a very large file (about 6.2MB) so with slower connections it may take some time to save... but think of all the dings you'll have to play with then! :)
Aug 2007Those looking for military symbols, map symbols and various other images of ships, planes, personnel, equipment, etc, in silhouette, will find a use for the varied selection offered by Major Tom Mouat (here and here), a serving officer with the British Army. Apart from official NATO map-marking symbols, these include soldiers and tanks from World War II, an international marine flags font, and even one depicting characters, craft and equipment from the Star Wars films. All are listed in our links, most under 'Military'. Unfortunately 15 other valuable military/NATO map symbol fonts by ERDAS are now apparently more inaccessible than they were. Latterly held at Leica GeoSystems, download links moved once or twice, but if still available at all we believe they may be in a part of the site only accessible by registering there is no charge for this, but it means we cannot put a direct link to a location as before. If you wish to register to check if these fonts are then downloadable, go here. Alternatively the ERDAS fonts are 'out there' on the web at various archive sites.
to Jul 2007The Mr. Fisk Fonts by Sweden's Mike Larsson disappeared for a spell, but can now be found at another location where a good selection of the 1997-2002 fonts are illustrated and downloadable. There were only ever a very few dingbats in the collection anyway, and only one has made it through the recent reorganisation the skeleton font, Dancing Dead but there are plenty of other regular fonts to go and look at.
to Jul 2007Music, musical fonts or musical notation: some fonts are listed on our link pages, but anyone looking for more music notation, information, etc, could also try these links:
(a) Luc Devroye's page of links and info about music fonts
(b) Several fonts by Australian composer Matthew Hindson
(c) NWC Scriptorium's Helpful Hints page, Fonts section
(d) Robert Allgeyer offers several free musical notation fonts: the page also includes a few links to more resources.
(e) DVM Publications: Professional Fonts, and Free Fonts.
(f) Blake Hodgetts' free fonts, Toccata and Fughetta.
(g) Dr Yo Tomita's Bach font.
Current at Jul 2007Towards the end of 2004 we hoped the disappearance of No Images Fonts (Levi) only meant the pages were being reworked, but a couple of years later it seems this site joined the ranks of so many others which just vanish for whatever reason.
to Jul 2007The distinctive fonts by PaleAle (David Koehne) also went AWOL some time ago and, as we haven't traced another site since, links have been removed in our lists for a while. We're considering offering these fonts at some point, but meanwhile you should be able to track down the titles at other archive sites.
to Jul 2007Dennis Palumbo offers shareware and commercial fonts, including some lovely dingfonts and dingbats all dings are purchaseware, but take a look at previews of the four decorative border fonts made into frames for example, and you may succumb! Dennis also has almost 2000 links to font-related websites, although these are no longer regularly updated.
to Jul 2007Harry Potter fonts: with the recent release of the final Harry Potter book you might find yourself wanting some of these ^0^ :)
David Martin at 24HourBauer has made Harry Potter & the Dingbats.
CarpoSarponem (Sarah McFalls) has made two HP fonts, Lumos and Parseltongue (with Lumos containing half a dozen 'hidden' Potter-related dings).
You Know Who by Toto contains one character only, of the Dark Mark from the Potter books.
Other sites where HP-related fonts can be downloaded, and where you'll find a lot else besides:
MuggleNet
HellzWorld
The Snitch
HP-Devo
You can even read some of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone translated into Greek if that's your bag! The Classics Pages has details (a font of Greek symbols to view the text is also provided).
Current at Jul 2007Robyn Harton (formerly Robyn's Fonts, latterly RAH Creative) and Gabrielle Gaither offered their fonts jointly from DingbatFonts.com where they were split into freeware, shareware and commercialware. With a couple of exceptions, those to buy all had free samplers containing several characters from the full version. Now Robyn may have given up the domain, as lately it's no longer found. The full versions of the shareware and commercial titles were always available to buy from MyFonts.com, but free demos for these fonts were only available from the home site: naturally we linked there so you could download them. Now this is no longer possible we have had to change our links to the relevant pages at MyFonts.com, except for a few of Gab's titles available elsewhere. As for the several fully freeware titles, only one, Holiday, is available (still free) at MyFonts.com, but with the apparent demise of the home site the rest are not -- Making Faces and Pents (by Robyn); and Basic Button, Basic Star and You There! (by Gabrielle); with Gab's commercial Swish also unavailable.
One of Robyn's fonts, Amenti (made originally for FontsAnon~ members) can be downloaded here.
Gabrielle's JustKissMe.com site (formerly Gab's Graphics) for PSP tubes, presets, websets, controls, mosaics etc, closed down a long while back.
Jul 2007Early in 2003 Denise Clendenin of Sassy Graphics retired everything at the site, which still carried the same announcement as this item was last checked. The large, varied and extremely popular collection of dingbats was also a casualty; but as they were apparently always freely available and could be found at many archive sites, we're offering them from a single page so the collection remains together. Go to the Sassy Graphics Collection for previews and downloads.
to Jul 2007David Nalle's Scriptorium (or Ragnorok Press) is a must if you love beautiful typefaces, display caps and picture fonts based on historical sources and the work of some of the great illustrators of the past (Arthur Rackham and William Morris are just two). But be sure to set aside quite a chunk of time! there's a lot to see. The fonts aren't all rooted in the past, but also include modern and futuristic faces. Some pages are slow to load and certain links don't work but there are some real gems to be found if you're prepared to dig around and simply enjoy what you come across in the process.
The Scriptorium foundry is commercial, but many demo or trial versions can be downloaded, and are worth seeking out. Several picture font demos are included in our lists with direct links through to their download location, but there are many more regular and display fonts. One of the best pages is probably the sample page, but it's also one of the slowest as over 400 fonts are illustrated. All have demo download links but be aware not all will produce the hoped-for zip file (a comment at the top of the page explains this). Many Scriptorium demo fonts and samplers have 'escaped' into cyberspace: worth looking out for in case they're not now available direct from the home site. From the main page you'll find links to all parts of the site.
to Jul 2007Lisa Rohrbaugh's Set City site is no more, but Lisa dropped by a year or two back and got in touch, saying she "did not have a clue anyone would remember me". Not the first designer who's been surprised to learn how much we enjoyed and miss their work :) Lisa kindly invited us to re-offer the SC dingbat fonts see the SetCity Collection.
Date N/AThe ShadowyMist site hasn't been online since about 2002, and so the library of 30 dingbat fonts designed by Laurie Preston hadn't seen the light of day for a while either or at least, probably not together on a single page as they used to be. As part of our aim to bring more 'lost fonts' to the attention of a new audience, we put together a download page for this collection to be enjoyed once more visit the ShadowyMist Collection.
Date N/ASMG Designs moved in 2003 to a new site, SerialPurrs, where the original dingbat fonts were never offered till early in 2006 when Sara let us know they were available again. So, as a welcome change, links could be put back on to a few titles instead of usually having to remove them! But there must have been a change of heart, as barely a year later one of our readers let us know they were no longer found -- still the case as this item is updated.
Jul 2007Ann Stretton's fonts are now all commercial, but one free bonus font is included with any order from The DingbatCave: choose from Ann's Special 1-3, Seconds 1-5, Cubicles, Snowcrystals, Corners, Crawler (86 chars of bugs and crawlers), or Gingerbread Borders Bonus (the latter free only with an order for the full Gingerbread Border family of fonts). They're worth having, as almost all contain 72 superb outlines. To see what's available to buy go to the main page. Ann's other site for graphics is at Ann-s-Thesia.com.
to Jul 2007A note for anyone searching for Andy Krahling's Sunwalk Design site: another case of 'disappearing without trace'. Two of Andy's fonts, the dingbats Flags and Crud Heads, are available in our download section.
Date N/AWhile Rob Dobi's domain is still up and running, the section within it for ToxicType is not.
to Jul 2007A great collection of around 100 image and symbol fonts is available from Typical Type Design (TTD) in Sweden only to buy, not freeware or shareware and no samplers, but very reasonably priced at roughly $3 to $7 each, with further reductions offered from time to time. We believe these are what used to be called the Symbolon fonts, in which case Luc's comments are full of praise (and he's always worth paying heed to): "All the fonts are sharp and of the highest quality. Exquisite, really." You can either buy online individually only the font(s) you like or in several collections.
to Jul 2007By 2003 Dale Harris in Oz-land was saying "Utopia Fonts is no more", so his dingbat titles remain in our lists only for reference (link-less). 1001 Fonts still maintains a page where a number of Utopia titles are available for download no dingbats though.
to Jul 2007Leah used to offer extremely useful dingbat fonts with the web designer in mind from her Web Elegance site (and also from Fontitude, a collaborative effort with Rhonda Radcliff), but the pages had been unavailable for some time and it looked as though these fonts had gone for good. Then out of the blue, having seen the previous news item here bemoaning the loss of yet another collection of titles, Leah contacted us suggesting that she could send us most of her fonts if we would like to reoffer them. Well, it didn't take a moment's thought to accept! -- we're delighted to now make the Web Elegance Collection available once more, and our warm thanks go to Leah for the kind contribution. All the freeware and most of the previously commercial titles are now offered freely without restrictions in return for a link back to Leah's new site, Digi Web Studio. There, Leah offers web designer graphic collections, DIY websets, digital scrapbooking designs, print packs, printable label collections, desktop wallpaper, stock photos and more -- do check it out.
Of Rhonda Radcliff (formerly Cyberbuny Creations, and later Digital Attitudes and Fontitude) unfortunately we have no more news since her sites disappeared.
from Sep 2007Welsh fonts: anyone working with text in Welsh will know it can be problematic, as certain characters (for example, the circumflexed W and Y) are often not available with many regular fonts, particularly if they're free. The following links are to sources where free fonts with tobachs can be downloaded:
(a) Gillian, by NRB Systems;
(b) Pryd Euro-Cymraeg, available from Freelang.
(c) Fairly extensive selection at Applied Language Solutions.
If you're prepared to shell out some cash to extend the range and variety of typefaces you're able to use, professional/commercial fonts will often include the circumflexed characters. As just one example, most of the titles we've seen at Ray Larabie's Typodermic foundry support Welsh, and many are quite reasonable cost-wise. Our link goes to the first of the catalogue pages (of which there are a number) showing small example images -- click any of these for more info and a full character set.

If you want to keep up with the dingbat font scene (or with every conceivable type and style of font you can think of, and everything to do with typography), go to Luc Devroye's fantastic pages that link takes you to the page for original dingbats, there's one for dingbat archives, and the main fonts index is here.
Luc offers his own series of dingbat fonts under the collective name of the Sugaku Fonts, a quite staggering collection as you will see for yourself if you go and look at the page. Over 100 separate fonts, most containing 256 glyphs (several times more than in the average dingbat font), so a conservative estimate produces a total of well over 20,000 characters available from this one source alone. Respect!
