The ShadowyMist Collection
The ShadowyMist site was retired in about 2002, and while we can do nothing about the loss of all the backgrounds, BladePro presets, and PSP tutorials, the library of 30 dingbat fonts can be rescued from obscurity :) Created by Laurie Preston, it's a useful collection of varied designs and ornaments, corners, animals, mythological outlines (many in a heraldic style), snowflakes, sports, etc. The animated button above came from the original site.
Fonts are in TrueType format. If you have difficulty extracting files from the zip, you may need to download WinZip or a similar utility. For help with unzipping your files and installing fonts, see links on our installation page.

Previews show selected outlines, not full character sets, and are low resolution images only.
Note: as always, please respect the font creator's copyright, and be sure to read and abide by their terms of use: 'freeware' usually means 'for personal use only'.
Background info
A bit of a mystery had us foxed for some years with these fonts, which have a prefix of LP. They were created by Laurie Preston (aka NightHawk) at the ShadowyMist site; but at roughly the same time Graphic Heaven was also offering a set of dingbat fonts by Laurie Ann Preston and prefixed LA. With such a similarity of names it was easy to think both Lauries could be the same person; yet some details never tallied — for example, Graphic Heaven is in the US, while we believe ShadowyMist was a UK site. So despite the coincidences we ended up deciding the LP and LA fonts were two quite separate collections by different people, but it was never really certain . . .
Then towards the end of 2005 Laurie Ann (of Graphic Heaven) came across our pages and kindly let us know that her 'LA fonts' had no connection with the ShadowyMist dingbats. We're most grateful to her for taking the trouble to clarify this — Laurie Ann's fonts are offered here.
